My work seeks to foster curiosity, appreciation, and stewardship of the natural world through scientifically-informed illustration. Drawing inspiration from direct observation and field experience, each piece highlights the beauty and ecological importance of native species and their habitats, with a particular focus on birds, plants, and reptiles. Through art, I aim to support conservation efforts, environmental education, and a deeper understanding of the interconnection that sustains healthy ecosystems. Many of the species featured face significant conservation challenges, and their stories merit our attention and appreciation.
Art Process
Every project begins with careful observation and research to ensure both artistic quality and scientific accuracy. Through field observation, original photography, and study sketches, I develop illustrations that accurately capture each species' distinctive form and character. The work highlights field marks that make each species instantly recognizable. Final artwork is created digitally, which provides the flexibility to produce high-quality artwork optimized for applications ranging from prints and publications to apparel, signage, stickers, and embroidery.
